Kia PV5 Passenger 7-seat gets a £1,500 grant boost

Kia’s electric people mover has become a little easier on the wallet. The PV5 Passenger 7-seat now qualifies for the Government Electric Car Grant, taking £1,500 off every version in the range. Prices start at £35,495 on the road for the entry-level Essential, with the Plus and top-spec Elite also eligible.

For families who need room for a full crew, the PV5 offers three rows of seats in a 2-2-3 layout. Kia says there’s space for seven, with generous legroom throughout. Dual sliding side doors and a low 399mm step-in height should also make it easier to get passengers into the second and third rows, whether that’s kids, grandparents or a group heading away for the weekend.

Boot space is 350 litres with all three rows in use, giving room for everyday bags, shopping and camping gear. Need more space for luggage, bikes or bulky kit? Fold down the second and third rows and capacity grows to 3,430 litres. That flexibility could make the PV5 useful for more than family duties, with Kia also pitching it at shuttle operators, airport transfers, ride-hailing and other shared transport services.

The UK seven-seat version comes with Kia’s Long Range 71.2kWh battery. It offers a claimed range of up to 246 miles on the WLTP combined test cycle, while rapid DC charging at up to 150kW can take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes. As ever, real-world range and charging times will depend on conditions, driving style and the charger being used.

All PV5 Passenger and Cargo models are available to order through Kia’s network of PBV Centres across the UK. The grant applies to the seven-seat model’s Essential, Plus and Elite grades, so buyers can choose the level of equipment that suits them without losing the discount.

The £1,500 reduction adds another option for anyone looking at a large electric vehicle, especially households and businesses that need more seats than a typical SUV provides. With seven places, flexible cargo space and a claimed 246-mile range, the PV5 Passenger is designed to cover everything from the school run to passenger transport work. Kia says it is one of eleven brands currently offering fully electric vehicles eligible for the maximum grant.
